HCMC – Vietnamese and Singaporean businesses and organizations have signed 12 memorandums of understanding (MOUs) to strengthen collaboration in digitization, human resources, and sustainable development.
These MOUs open up opportunities for advanced cooperation in key areas between counterparts in Vietnam and Singapore, particularly industry associations, trade offices, educational institutions, and financial organizations, among others.
The signing took place during the seventh Singapore Regional Business Forum held in Hanoi on July 7. This is the first time the forum has been held outside of Singapore, with the participations of high-profile officials from both countries, as well as leading businesses and organizations in transportation and logistics, urban development, and education sectors.
Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai emphasized the crucial role of trade and investment cooperation in sustaining Vietnam-Singapore relations during his address at the event.
In addition, the Singapore Business Federation, in collaboration with United Overseas Bank Limited, launched a corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative aimed at providing practical training and educational opportunities to 1,000 talents in the fields of finance, technology, and innovation.
Both countries have been actively working together to enhance the quality of human resources and improve workforce competency to meet the growing domestic and international demand.
Singapore is Vietnam’s second-largest investor, with 3,200 projects worth US$73.4 billion. It is also Vietnam’s leading market, with bilateral trade reaching US$9.2 billion in 2022.
