HCMC – The finance ministries of Vietnam and Luxembourg signed an agreement to establish a strategic partnership on green finance between the two countries yesterday, May 4.
The effort was expected to make green finance a key pillar in bilateral cooperation, which was stated during a meeting between Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and his Luxembourgish counterpart, Xavier Bettel, who is on a three-day visit to Vietnam.
The two countries’ heads of government agreed to enhance the partnership in the financial and banking sectors, including cooperation between the Vietnam and Luxembourg stock exchanges.
PM Chinh praised the growing Vietnam-Luxembourg relations, particularly in trade, stressing the need to foster bilateral ties for sustainable development.
Vietnam and Luxembourg planned to strengthen joint efforts in improving logistics infrastructure and constructing bonded warehouse systems in each country.
The two countries’ officials will partner on a range of major aspects, including technology advancement and climate change adaptation, to promote Vietnam’s green growth strategy for the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050.
