HCMC – Vietnam wants to deepen cooperation with Japan in technological innovation for sustainable growth, including renewable energy and digital transformation.
The statement was given yesterday, May 8, during a meeting between Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung and Nikai Toshihiro, chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Alliance.
Dung noted that Japanese investors had proven their competency with high credibility throughout many projects in Vietnam.
Toshihiro praised the growing Vietnam-Japan economic cooperation and stressed the need to further enhance bilateral ties.
Vietnam and Japan have immense potential to strengthen cooperation in a range of sectors, particularly with renewable energy, green technology and human resource development.
Vietnam ranked first among Southeast Asian countries in which Japanese businesses would like to invest, the Japan Business Federation cited a recent report by the Japan Bank for International Cooperation.
To realize the partnership prospects, Japanese officials recommended Vietnam streamline administrative procedures and improve the local business environment.
Japan was committed to supporting the operations of roughly 2,000 Japanese corporations in Vietnam, as well as facilitating trade and investment activities between the two countries’ businesses.
