HCMC – The Ministry of Industry and Trade in Vietnam has issued a decision launching an anti-dumping investigation into wind towers imported from China.

Decision 2494/QD-BCT re-classifies products with HS codes 7308.20.11 and 7308.20.19 as 8502.31.10 and 8502.31.20 when they are imported into Vietnam as part of wind power generation sets.

The launch of the probe follows a request for an anti-dumping probe submitted by two local businesses, CS WIND Vietnam Co., Ltd. and Phuong Nam Green and Renewable Energy Co., Ltd., concerning imports of wind towers from China.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade, after the launch of the investigation, will distribute a questionnaire to relevant parties to gather information for assessing Chinese exporters’ anti-dumping practices, losses incurred by Vietnamese businesses, and the impact of dumped products on the local industry.

Upon completion of the investigation, the ministry will consider implementing temporary anti-dumping measures to mitigate the effects of these dumped imports on domestic manufacturing.

Concurrently, a thorough assessment and evaluation of information provided by relevant parties will be conducted before an official conclusion on the case is made.
