Vietnam braces for scorching weather

HCMC – A heat wave is expected to sweep through various parts of the country over the next 3-4 days, accompanied by a dangerous ultraviolet index at noon.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, some regions may experience heavy rains, thunderstorms, and strong winds, especially in the afternoon and evening.

The northwestern and northeastern areas are predicted to face scorching heat in the daytime, followed by rain and squalls. Temperatures are expected to range from 36-39 degrees Celsius.

Similarly, the north and south-central coastal regions may encounter a combination of cloudy weather and intense heat during the day. Showers, strong winds, and lightning are likely to occur in a few places, with temperatures ranging from 35-38 degrees Celsius.

In the Central Highlands and southern provinces, the weather pattern is forecasted to be a mix of clouds and sun throughout the day, with rain expected in the evening. Regional temperatures will range from 25-35 degrees Celsius.

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has issued a warning about the high risk of heat-related illnesses and severe weather phenomena due to unfavorable weather conditions. Citizens are advised to take precautions and protect their skin from the scorching sun.

Road users are also urged to exercise caution and ensure their safety during this period of extreme weather.
