HCMC – Vietjet has officially launched its direct air service connecting Hanoi and Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. The commencement of this route coincided with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s participation in the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Indonesia.
This is Vietjet’s fourth direct service to Indonesia, following the recent launch of direct flights connecting HCMC and Jakarta by the local airline.
Operating four weekly flights between Hanoi and Jakarta, Vietjet has increased its total number of flights between the two countries to 92 per week, starting from December.
The introduction of air travel between Vietnam and Indonesia plays a pivotal role in further developing the strategic partnership between the two nations, promoting cultural exchanges, and fostering economic cooperation.
According to Nguyen Thanh Hung, vice chairman of Vietjet, the airline aims to act as a bridge for cultural exchanges and economic cooperation between both countries, with the goal of facilitating travel for one million passengers between Vietnam and Indonesia this year.
