HCMC – Teky Alpha, a local educational startup, has earned US$10 million in total investment after securing US$5 million in Series A financing from Singapore-based Sweef Capital and its current investor Strategic Year Holdings.
The investment will support the expansion of Teky’s operations in Vietnam, bringing its facilities and services to 40 centers and thousands of STEM courses across the country, the firm said in a statement.
STEM education is an approach that combines science, technology, engineering and math in teaching and learning.
Dao Lan Huong, founder and chairwoman of the Hanoi-based business, said the financing is one of the largest investments in the Series A round in Vietnam’s educational sector.
Founded in 2016, Teky has delivered courses to roughly one million accounts with 50,000 children aged between five and 18.
The firm aims to become a leading educational technology company in Vietnam and Asia.
Sweef Capital, also known as the Southeast Asia Women’s Economic Empowerment Fund, focuses on investing in growth-stage companies in Southeast Asia.
