HCMC – Contractors are speeding up work on the Nha Trang-Cam Lam expressway so that it could be test opened to traffic in June before it is put into official use in September this year.

A report from the Nha Trang-Cam Lam Management Board said that the construction and installation packages of this expressway section were 82% complete. Thus, the section would be opened to traffic three months earlier than scheduled, cited the Vietnam News Agency.

The Nha Trang-Cam Lam expressway is one of three components of the North-South Expressway Project’s eastern section of its first phase (2017-2020), invested by Son Hai Corporation under the public-private partnership format.

Contractors are completing paving asphalt for the roadway’s concrete, bridges, water drainage systems, residential underpass, road dividers, guardrails, fences and other road safety categories under packages XL1 and XL2.

Contractors are also accelerating work on the XL3 package, including the execution of a 750-meter-long Doc San tunnel and an intelligent traffic system.

The Nha Trang-Cam Lam expressway section, with a total length of 49 kilometers, starts in Dien Tho Commune, Dien Khanh District, and ends in Cam Thinh Tay Commune, Cam Ranh City, Khanh Hoa Province.

The project costs over VND7,600 billion, of which the State would fund VND2,967 billion.
