HCMC – National Assembly (NA) Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue arrived in Tehran this morning, August 8, starting his official visit to Iran at the invitation of Speaker of the Iranian Parliament Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf.
His visit, from August 8 to 10, coincides with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Iran.
During this trip, Hue will hold talks with Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, meet with Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi, and witness the signing of agreements between the two legislative bodies.
He will also participate in various cultural, economic, and diplomatic activities, and meet with officials of the Vietnamese Embassy in Iran as well as representatives of the Vietnamese community in Iran.
Vietnam and Iran established diplomatic relations on August 4, 1973.
According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, two-way trade between the two countries reached around US$100 million in 2022. However, bilateral trade is primarily conducted through third countries, so actual trade value could surpass the annual statistics.
