HCMC – A crash involving five cars occurred on the HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway this morning, resulting in a severe traffic snarl.
The operator of the expressway said that the accident was caused by a ride-hailing car while it was traveling on the HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway at around 8:30 a.m. this morning.
When this vehicle was ascending the Long Phuoc Bridge after passing through the toll station, it suddenly stopped.
At that moment, three cars traveling in the same direction behind were unable to react in time and collided with each other, subsequently pushing the ride-hailing vehicle forward and causing it to collide with another four-seater car.
The crash resulted in extensive damage to the rear and front ends of the five vehicles, with them being intertwined. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries.
It caused serious traffic congestion in the area this morning, with thousands of vehicles queued up in a line for around five kilometers on the expressway.
The accident scene was cleared by noon on the same day, and the traffic flow on the HCMC-Long Thanh-Dau Giay Expressway was back to normal.
