Ministry of Finance proposes lowering 35 fees and charges

HCMC – The Ministry of Finance has proposed reducing 35 types of fees and charges from July 1 to December 31 this year to help businesses and households cope with rising costs of production and living.

The Ministry of Finance has sent an official dispatch to ministries, ministerial-level agencies and governmental organizations requesting them to review a fee and charge reduction proposal to relieve the financial burden on businesses and households, reported the Vietnam News Agency.

To support businesses and households this year, the Ministry of Finance proposed cutting 35 fees and charges with a validity from July 1 till December 31, 2023.

The Ministry of Finance wants ministries and ministerial-level agencies to evaluate the collection, payment, management and usage of the fees and charges under their management and submit a fee adjustment proposal to the ministry.

On April 17, the Government Office issued an official letter on fee and charge reductions. Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai assigned the Ministry of Finance to actively draft a document on reductions of fees and charges in compliance with the law.
