HCMC – Over 10 inner-city streets will be temporarily closed to traffic tomorrow evening, September 2, to accommodate the city’s fireworks displays in celebration of National Day, said the HCMC Department of Transport.
To ensure traffic safety during the celebrations, vehicles will be prohibited from entering Nguyen Hue Boulevard along with its adjacent roads, between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. tomorrow.
Additionally, the city will impose vehicle restrictions on numerous streets in District 1 and District 4 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. The restricted streets include Ton Duc Thang Street (from Me Linh Square to Khanh Hoi Bridge), Ba Son Bridge, Ham Nghi, Vo Van Kiet (from Ho Tung Mau to Ton Duc Thang streets), Hai Trieu (from Ho Tung Mau to Nguyen Hue), Ho Huan Nghiep, and Ngo Duc Ke (from Me Linh Square to Dong Khoi Street).
In District 4, vehicles will not be allowed to traverse Nguyen Tat Thanh Street (from Hoang Dieu Street to Khanh Hoi Bridge) and Ben Van Don Street (from Nguyen Truong To to Nguyen Tat Thanh streets).
The city has arranged for fireworks displays at two locations: the Saigon River Tunnel area in Thu Duc City and Dam Sen Park in District 11. These displays are scheduled to take place from 9 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. tomorrow.
Citizens and tourists are advised to refrain from parking or congregating on bridges, including the rooftop of the Saigon River Tunnel, to observe the fireworks.
