HCMC – HCMC will organize the fourth economic forum with the theme “Green growth – a journey to move toward net zero emissions” from September 13 to 17.
A press conference was held yesterday, May 11, by the HCMC Department of Foreign Affairs and the HCMC Union of Business Associations to introduce the event.
The upcoming event will center on six main topics: green growth and circularity for megacities, building an ecosystem of circular economy in the context of moving toward net zero emissions, policies in building green growth models and missions of enterprises, resources in developing circular economy and the current situation of HCMC and solutions during the implementation of the green growth model.
The event will feature around 1,200 participants from international financial institutions and organizations such as the World Bank, IMF and WEF, as well as leaders from 21 countries, local and international experts in green economy and circular economy.
Le Truong Duy, deputy director of the HCMC Department of Foreign Affairs, said at the press conference that HCMC leaders would have separate meetings with delegates, including about 100 CEOs of local and foreign companies, to discuss cooperation in green economy.
The city held the first two economic forums in 2018 and 2019 and the third in 2022 after a two-year pause due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
