HCMC – Nguyen Hoa Cuong and Nguyen Trong Tieu will leave their posts as chairman and deputy chairman of the board of directors at GELEX Group JSC for personal reasons.
They will tender their resignation at the general meeting of shareholders slated for April 26, according to an announcement issued by the firm, which trades its GEX shares on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange.
GELEX planned not to elect additional members to the board, reducing the number of board members to five in the 2021-2026 term.
Cuong has worked at GELEX for 13 years and made great contributions to the firm’s development, while Tieu has served the company for 12 years and became the company’s deputy board chairman in August 2018.
Today, March 30, GEX closed the session down 1.2% day-on-day, at VND12,350, with a matching volume of more than 9.1 million shares.
The VN-Index of the HCMC bourse extended its winning streak to the eighth session with 190 advancers and 176 decliners. The main index gained 3.11 points, or a fractional 0.29% from yesterday’s session, at 1,059.44.
Over 634 million shares worth over VND11 trillion changed hands, up 37% in volume and 33% in value, against the previous session. There were more than 78.7 million shares traded in block deals, contributing nearly VND1.4 trillion to the overall value, including 50.2 million SHB shares valued at over VND570.4 billion.
With more than 23.3 million shares traded, securities stock VND took the lead by liquidity but finished the day down 1% at VND15,250.
The HNX-Index of the Hanoi Stock Exchange added 0.36 points, or 0.17%, from the session earlier, at 205.95, with 76 winners and 79 losers.
Trade on the northern bourse amounted to VND992.6 billion with around 70 million shares changing hands, including 2.62 million shares worth VND38.1 billion traded in block deals.
