HCMC – The Ministry of Finance (MOF) had a working session with the EU-ASEAN Business Council (EU-ABC) to strengthen the bilateral partnership in green economy and digital transformation yesterday, February 14.
The ministry was committed to supporting European enterprises’ operations in Vietnam, making the business climate more favorable, and improving policies for tax and administrative management.
Vietnam has increasingly launched initiatives to develop renewable energy infrastructure systems, namely solar and wind power, according to the ministry.
The country has sought to realize the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions, in line with the national green growth strategy and sustainable development.
EU-ABC representatives hailed Southeast Asian nations, including Vietnam, as promising destinations for European investment.
The council plans to foster cooperation with local peers in Vietnam in digital transformation, financial markets and tax reforms.
EU-ABC, recognized by the European Commission, is the major voice for European businesses in Southeast Asia.
The council aims to promote European interests in ASEAN and facilitate trade and investment ties between Europe and the regional countries.
The EU-ABC members are European multinational corporations and nine business associations in ASEAN, including the European Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam.
