HCMC – Tour operators have organized additional chartered flights from China’s major cities to Khanh Hoa Province, bringing more Chinese tourists to the south-central province.
China Southern Airlines, the largest carrier in China, has plans to launch daily flights to the Cam Ranh International Airport in Khanh Hoa Province starting October 29.
Currently, this airline is operating three round-trip flights a week from China’s Guangzhou to Khanh Hoa. With its plan, the total number of flights between Khanh Hoa and Chinese cities will rise to 10 per day.
The increase of direct flights from China to the province will help attract visitors from China and other countries as well, said Nguyen Thi Le Thanh, director of the Khanh Hoa Department of Tourism.
The agency previously worked closely with its Chinese counterparts to promote the opening of new direct air routes between the two countries. Tourism businesses and local authorities have introduced a multitude of new tourism products to encourage Chinese visitors to stay longer and spend more.
In October, accommodation facilities in the province catered to 500,000 visitors, doubling the number in the same period in 2022. Notably, 220,000 of them were international tourists, a 6-fold increase year-on-year.
Khanh Hoa is expected to welcome 6.2 million travelers and earn VND30,000 billion in revenue by the end of this month.
