China launches refrigerated railway service to Vietnam

HCMC – China has inaugurated a refrigerated container train, loaded with fresh fruits and vegetables, departing from Kunming City and bound for Lao Cai Province, Vietnam.

This train marks the commencement of Chinese refrigerated railway service to its neighboring country of Vietnam.

The train, equipped with a refrigeration system, embarked on its journey from Yunnan Province and is slated to reach Lao Cai Province one day later.

Presently, a weekly trip is scheduled to transport fruits from Kunming in Yunnan Province to the northern province of Vietnam. However, the operator, Kunming Railway Corporation, said it will increase the train’s frequency in response to future customer demand.
