HCMC – A fashion show with dresses made from flowers and plants has been recently held at Cat Tien National Park in the southern province of Dong Nai, as part of the activities to mark the upcoming World Environment Day on June 5.
The “Cat Tien-Four Seasons of Green” collection showcased 30 inspiring dresses made by Vietnam’s noted designer Minh Hanh, with the performance of 20 local models.
The dresses were made from green leaves and dried tree branches, with a range of flowers growing in the national park such as bird-of-paradise flowers, golden chain flowers and peach blossoms, among others.
The event was aimed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of World Environment Day and the Month of Acting for Environment 2023, raising environmental awareness and biodiversity conservation in the community.
Vietnamese dancer Linh Nga and traditional Nhi instrument player Thuy Anh performed at the show, in addition to singers TG9X Nguyen Thai Duong, Le Minh Duc and Khang Ngoc.
Cat Tien National Park, covering an area of 71,000 hectares in the provinces of Dong Nai Binh Phuoc and Lam Dong, is recognized as a world biosphere reserve by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).
It is home to about 1,500 species of animals and more than 1,600 plant species.
As part of the event, the organizer presented 40 scholarships for children of the Cat Tien National Park employees, with each worth VND2 million.
The activity was held in collaboration with Thanh Dung Development Joint Stock Company and Saigon Times Foundation – a charitable, non-profit organization initiated by the Saigon Times Group.
