HCMC – The central coastal province of Binh Thuan earned over VND11.3 trillion from tourism services in the first half of 2023, ranking among the top nine localities with the highest tourism revenue nationwide.
The province welcomed an impressive 4.46 million visitors during this period, up a remarkable 86% year-on-year. Notably, the number of international tourist arrivals reached 133,000, a five-fold surge compared to the same period last year.
The substantial growth in tourist arrivals has resulted in a significant boost to Binh Thuan’s tourism revenue, which has more than doubled in the first six months of this year.
In June alone, the province saw 830,000 tourist arrivals, with popular destinations such as Ham Tien, Mui Ne, Hon Rom, Tien Thanh, Doi Duong, and Phu Quy Island attracting a large number of visitors.
Binh Thuan’s favorable weather, friendly people, and improved transport infrastructure, including the just-opened Phan Thiet-Dau Giay and Vinh Hao-Phan Thiet expressways, have played a vital role in enticing travelers to choose the province as their preferred destination during the peak tourism season.
Furthermore, the successful organization of various activities and events as part of the National Tourism Year 2023, under the theme “Binh Thuan – Green Convergence,” has created favorable conditions for the province to develop its tourism sector further.
Binh Thuan has set an ambitious target to have 6.7 million tourist arrivals in 2023, including over 220,000 international visitors, with a tourism revenue goal of VND15.9 trillion.
The local authorities have called on relevant agencies to continue their efforts in improving service quality, diversifying tourism products, and creating favorable conditions to attract investment, ensuring the sustainable development of Binh Thuan’s tourism industry.
