HCMC – An international flight carrying 210 tourists from Kazakhstan to Phu Quoc Island off Kien Giang Province landed at the Phu Quoc International Airport today, October 23.
Bui Quoc Thai, director of the Kien Giang Department of Tourism, was quoted by the local media as saying that the Kazakhstani tourists will explore tourist attractions on Phu Quoc, including Vinpearl Safari Phu Quoc, Grand World Phu Quoc fun park, and Thom Islet.
Hundreds of Russian travelers are expected to come to the island between October 24 and 25.
As the holiday season approaches, local authorities are intensifying efforts to promote the visa-free policy for international tourists. They are also enhancing cooperation with foreign affairs agencies and Vietnamese representative offices abroad to boost the island’s image.
So far this year, Phu Quoc Island has welcomed over 540,000 foreign visitors from countries such as South Korea, India, China, Thailand, and Kazakhstan, according to the Kien Giang Department of Tourism.
