HCMC – The German Business Association (GBA) Oktoberfest Vietnam kicked off yesterday, October 12, in HCMC, after being held in Hanoi and Danang with 5,000 local and foreign participants.

The renowned cultural festival featuring unique German cuisine and fine craft beers takes place at the Nikko Saigon Hotel between October 12 and 14.

The event is co-hosted by GBA, the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam (AHK Vietnam), under the patronage of the German Embassy in Hanoi and the German Consulate General in HCMC.

The organizer announced that 5,000 tickets for three nights of Oktoberfest in HCMC had been sold out. Dr. Josefine Wallat, consul general of Germany in HCMC, said this was the largest Oktoberfest ever held in the city.

The festival was previously organized in Hanoi and the central coast city of Danang. In Hanoi, the event took place from September 28 to 30, greeting record-breaking 1,500 guests each night. In Danang, GBA Oktoberfest attracted 500 people on October 6.

Since 1992, GBA Oktoberfest Vietnam has grown to become one of the largest German festivals in Southeast Asia.
