HCMC – Nguyen Thi Tuyet, former board chairwoman of VIX Securities JSC, has acquired 1.2 million shares of the company, increasing her ownership to 5.03% and making her a major shareholder of the company, holding nearly 33.7 million shares.
Tuyet resigned from her position on February 10, 2023 due to personal reasons. She was elected to the role on November 2, 2022 for the 2021-2026 term.
In a recent development, VIX Securities is gathering shareholders’ feedback on a plan to revise its 2023 business plan. The consultation period lasts from September 20 to October 16.
The company aims to achieve after-tax profit of VND920 billion in 2023, up 70.4% from its initial target of VND540 billion. It also plans to offer a 10% dividend for the year.
VIX Securities reported a significant increase in revenue in the second quarter, which reached nearly VND700 billion. This is 2.5 times higher than in the same period last year.
Profits also surged to over VND565 billion, a substantial increase of 50-fold compared to the first quarter and 10-fold versus the second quarter of 2022.
Its VIX shares, however, plunged to the floor at VND14,900 per share today, October 3. VIX was the fourth most actively traded stock on the Hochiminh Stock Exchange, with more than 37.1 million shares changing hands.
Winners were vastly outnumbered by losers by a ratio of 37 to 481. There were 55 stocks ending the session at their floor prices. As a result, the VN-Index plummeted by 37.15 points, or 3.22%, to 1,118.1 points.
Trading volume and value skyrocketed over the previous session, with 991.8 million shares worth over VND21 trillion changing hands. Block deals contributed over 51.7 million shares, valued at VND1.3 trillion.
Within the VN30 basket, which comprises 30 largest-cap stocks, only HDB managed to close at its reference price of VND17,100 per share, while 29 others were decliners. The VN30-Index shed 36.24 points, or 3.11%, to 1,130.89 points.
SSI sank by 5.9% to VND30,200 per share and led the market by liquidity with over 42.2 million units traded.
The Hanoi Stock Exchange saw 34 advancers and 150 decliners, sending the HNX-Index down by 10.04 points, or a 4.24%, to 226.68 points. Over 134.8 million shares valued at VND2.5 trillion were traded on the northern bourse.
