Hanoi hosts forum on growth and sustainable development

HCMC – The Vietnam Socioeconomic Forum 2023 began in Hanoi City today, September 19, with a focus on reinforcing internal capacity, generating drivers for growth and sustainable development.

The forum’s objectives include assessing Vietnam’s socioeconomic performance in 2023 and reviewing the period from 2021 to 2023.

The agenda encompasses a plenary session and two specialized discussions. The first discussion centers on empowering enterprises to overcome challenges, while the second addresses the enhancement of labor productivity and the assurance of social welfare under new circumstances.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue presides over this hybrid event, which brings together 450 delegates to the event.

Forum participants deliberate on the global economic landscape, considering international tensions, economic shifts, and challenges to global economic recovery. Additionally, they will examine the economic policies of major nations and their potential impact on Vietnam.

The forum’s discussions also involve a review of Vietnam’s economic well-being, highlighting market dynamics, investment trends, and import-export patterns observed over the past three years. Key sectors under review include real estate, finance, technology, education, healthcare, and social welfare.

The forum was jointly organized by the National Assembly Economic Committee, the Economic Commission of the Party Central Committee, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics, and the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences.
