HCMC – Ride-hailing company Grab Vietnam has facilitated the delivery of 146 tons of fruit from January to May through its on-demand goods delivery service, GrabMart.
Alejandro Osorio, managing director of Grab Vietnam, mentioned the achievement at a conference titled “Accelerating digital and green transitions in driving breakthroughs to shorten the process of industrialization and modernization to 2030, with a vision to 2045.” The conference was organized by the Party Central Committee’s Economic Commission on June 14.
Osorio emphasized the importance of technology applications in supporting individuals and businesses in their digital transformation journey. Grab, with its decade-long presence in Vietnam, has played a crucial role in providing digital access to motorcycle-hailing drivers, enabling them to increase their income and access bank loans. Nearly 25% of Grab’s drivers have successfully obtained loans from banks.
In addition, Grab has launched various digital literacy programs since 2022, benefiting over 800 agricultural cooperatives. These programs aim to enhance digital skills and knowledge among participants.
To further accelerate digital transformation, Osorio recommended that government agencies take an active role in promoting technology startups and creating mechanisms that facilitate innovation and technology.
