HCMC – Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese will pay an official visit to Vietnam this weekend at the invitation of his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Minh Chinh, said the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The June 3-4 visit will coincide with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
PM Albanese is expected to meet with Vietnamese leaders to discuss ways to strengthen bilateral trade, investment and educational ties, and cooperation in combating climate change, protecting the environment and saving energy.
Vietnam and Australia established diplomatic ties in 1973 and upgraded their relations to a strategic partnership in March 2018.
