Hoi An to expand pedestrian streets

HCMC – Hoi An City in the central province of Quang Nam will expand the space for pedestrians and cyclists this month, reported the local media.

From May 15, the space for pedestrians and non-motorized vehicles will be expanded to Phan Chau Trinh Street in Hoi An, a World Cultural Heritage site recognized by UNESCO since 1999.

The walking and cycling town project is a unique tourism product of the ancient town and has received a positive response from residents and tourists.

The project aims to diversify tourism products and enrich the experience of visitors to the town.

In the first phase, a section from the intersection of Nguyen Hue and Phan Chau Trinh streets to the T-junction of Cao Hong Lanh and Phan Chau Trinh streets will be opened seven days a week, from 17:30 to 21:30 in summer and from 17:30 to 21:00 in winter.

The second phase of the project will commence from January 1, 2024, with opening hours from 15:00 to 21:30 in summer and from 15:00 to 21:00 in winter for the T-junction Hoang Dieu and Phan Chau Trinh streets to the T-junction of Cao Hong Lanh and Phan Chau Trinh streets.
