HCMC – A Vietnamese aquatic products trading center will be established in Fangchenggang Shi in the Chinese province of Guangxi to enable the two countries’ enterprises to enhance trading, establish a supply chain and export and import farm and aquatic products.
According to a representative of the Vietnam – China Business Association in Guangxi, they are expediting building the first Vietnamese aquatic product trading center in Fangchenggang Shi. Meanwhile, a cold storage warehouse with a capacity of 200,000 tons of aquatic products in Phase 1 has got the green light from the Chinese authorities for execution.
China was the second largest buyer of Vietnamese aquatic products in 2018-2022 after the U.S. and ranked first in importing farm products from Vietnam.
The export of major products from Vietnam to China, such as wood and wood products, rubber, veggies, cassava, cassava-related products and cashew nuts, had grown strongly in the first two months of this year.
Guangxi Province, a major importer of Vietnamese agro-forestry and aquatic products, accounted for 50% of Vietnam’s total export value.
Exporting Vietnam’s aqua-products into this market will rise in the coming time. Therefore, the Vietnamese aqua-products trading center will create favorable conditions for the two countries’ businesses to conduct trading activities and increase trust and understanding between them, said the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
