HCMC – The Mekong Delta province of An Giang expects to attract eight million tourist arrivals and make VND5.5 trillion in tourism revenue this year, according to the An Giang Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
The province wants to develop the tourism sector into a driving force for socio-economic growth.
An Giang will improve the quality of tourism services, ensure a safe and friendly tourism environment, and develop infrastructure and human resources.
The Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism will carry out tourism campaigns, including boosting the image of the province in the media and social networks.
As for its socio-economic development strategy, An Giang will join hands with neighboring provinces in the Mekong Delta to develop regional tourism and carry out a tourism cooperation program between HCMC and the 13 provinces of the Mekong Delta.
An Giang will launch new tours, connect tourist attractions, improve the quality of tourism products, and organize holiday tourism promotions.
The province welcomed around 7.5 million tourists in 2022, surging 127% year-on-year and reaching 163% of the full-year plan. It earned over VND4.7 trillion from tourism services, up 119% over the previous year.
