HCMC – More than VND638 trillion in public investment capital for this year has been allocated, reaching over 90% of the target set by the Prime Minister, according to a Ministry of Finance report.
The ministry said in the report that the total amount of capital earmarked for public investment in 2023 is over VND756 trillion. Of this, capital from domestic sources is VND727 trillion and foreign sources account for VND29 trillion.
By the end of January, the ministry had received reports on allocations of capital for public investment from 33 out of 52 ministries and centrally-run agencies, as well as 63 provinces and cities nationwide.
As for the remaining 19 ministries and centrally-run agencies that have yet to submit their reports, the total amount of public investment to be allocated is close to VND105 trillion.
The amount of domestic capital yet to be allocated was mainly planned for projects that failed to complete investment procedures and were thus ineligible for funding. Most of these projects are under a socioeconomic recovery and development program.
